Birch bark – little pot

Making a little container of birch bark

Working with birch bark is a beautiful and very old craft. The first Slavic cultures were known for the use of birch bark. That was used in making baskets, shoes, clothes, roofing, containers, pots, toys, etc.

During this intensive masterclass we will make a small birch bark pot. You can use this to store spices, sugar, coffee, etc.

We cover many techniques and it is a labor-intensive master class. The reward is great. In this masterclass we ask people who can work reasonably handy and independently. We may not have time to make the lid, but that is something you can finish at home.

This is what we gonna do:

Birch bark theory (harvest and varieties)

Preparing the birch bark

Working with spruce roots

Making a wooden bottom

Possibly making a lid

Timetable: 5 may 2021 at 9:30 am
Duration: The masterclass will last 7 hours
Costs Masterclass: €59,50

Take the following with you:

Own knife
